Fab Friday: Spotify Playlist for an Upbeat Workout

Happy Friday friends!

As a fitness instructor, I am always on the prowl for fun music to add to my class playlists. Recently, I fell in love with a few songs from artists like Major Lazer, Icona Pop, and Omi. So feast your ears on the first volume of the FitLikeThat playlists, which I’ll share every month with my favorite tunes. This playlist is perfect for a run, a cardio routine, or your personal dance party at home! As the songs vary from 126 beats per minute (BPM) to 108 BPM, this playlist can also be great for an interval workout. Let me know how you like it!!

Sample Workout FitLikeThat Vol 1. Playlist

Warm Up – 2:00 (light jog, jump rope, half squats, half push ups)

Split Lunge Jumps – 1:00 (lunge forward and hold for three counts, jump to switch feet, repeat)

Light Jump Rope – 00:30 (with real rope or imaginary, use to recover)

Split Lunge Jumps- 1:00 (see above)

Light Jump Rope -00:30

Walk out Push Ups – 1:00 (Start standing tall, keeping legs straight, walk hands on floor out into plan, do 1 push up, and walk hands back until standing)

Light Jump Rope – 00:30

Walk out Push Ups – 1:00 (see above)

Light Jump Rope – 00:30

Side Plank Dip Right – 1:00 (hold a side plank on right forearm and right foot (stack feet or put both feet on floor for better balance), lower right hip to floor, then lift back to start.

Side Plank Dip Left – 1:00 (see above)

Tempo Squats – 1:00 (stand tall, keeping chest up, lower hips, sitting into a squat and return to stand)

SLOW Squats – 1:00 (same as above, but lower into squat in three counts, then raise to start in three counts)

Plank Hold – 1:00 or greater to fatigue

Cool Down – 3:00-5:00 (do your favorite stretches, targeting legs, shoulders, and core)
