Workout of the Week: The Park Bench Workout

Although my calendar tells me that it’s December 16th, less than one week from Christmas, the outside temps in my neck of the woods (Washington, D.C.) are not aware. And so, to help you celebrate the unusually warm temps, while pushing thoughts of global warming to the back of your mind, I bring you the Park Bench Workout! The park is exactly where you should be during these confusingly warm days! Of course, if you prefer to take these moves inside, you can!

What you’ll need:

  • A bench (or something stable and elevated)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Step ups (20 reps on one leg, then switch) make sure you drive the knee way up to your chest each time!
  • Tricep Dips (20 reps)
  • Elevated Rear Lunges/Split LungElevated rear lunge getfitlikethates (20 reps on one leg then switch) when you lunge, both legs should form 90 degree angles. Here’s what it should look like, in case the video isn’t enough!

These are just three of many great exercises you can do with a park (or any other) bench!

What are some of your favorite park bench moves?

Until next time,

Keep it moving!

I like the step ups and push ups on the bench. I’m working on pull ups on the monkey bars…

Awesome! Monkey bars are just a beast now that I’m grown! When I try them, I’m like how did I ever do this as a kid! Thanks grown up weight! lol
