After all the teasers across my social media, I’m elated to finally share with you that I’ll be launching my very first group fitness class called A.M. LIFT in Washington D.C.! I’ve been dreaming about doing this since I watched Buns of Steel on VHS, and I’m praying that this is a first of many more to come!
What is A.M. LIFT?
A.M. LIFT is a fitness class dedicated totally to strength conditioning using low impact, dynamic moves. We’ll work every muscle in our bodies using a combination of weight training, body weight exercises, sometimes while moving around the studio! (Think squat walks, planks, & shoulder presses). Strength conditioning is one of the very best ways to build lean muscle and encourage more fat burning all day long. We’ll move quickly between each move to keep our heart rates up as well. Not to mention, when we finish up in March, it will be right in time to show off our new spring bodies!
A Workout for All Fitness Levels
Every move in A.M. LIFT is based on simple every day movements. Which means you probably already know how to do the moves. I’ll teach you a few tricks to trigger some muscles you might have forgotten about as well. On the other hand, if you need more of a challenge, each move can be modified to suit advanced exercisers. Our weights are fairly light, but the moves and reps will definitely make you feel the burn!
Classes begin on January 19th and end mid March. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 – 7:45 AM giving you enough time to freshen up, have some coffee, and head to work!
Getting a head start
While you don’t need to train prior to taking this class, you can definitely get a head start by doing squats, lunges, sit ups, and push ups. Try 3 sets of 10 for each move!
